As I’ve written in previous blog posts, one of the things I love about living in Spain is the number of festivals, celebrations, and traditions you can find going on throughout the year. In Barcelona, each neighborhood has its own festivities, and in September it’s time to celebrate in Poblenou!
The Gràcia festivities are probably the most well known in Barcelona, when the residents of the neighborhood compete to win the prize for the best-decorated street. In Poblenou, to me the celebrations seem more authentic and local, with music, shared food, and, of course, a spectacular correfoc!
This year, the Poblenou festivities begin on September 10, and you can find all the events here, at this link.
Below, you’ll find some photos from previous year’s festivities. Come and enjoy the celebrations this year!
Hasta luego // Until next time,
K
