A mí me encantan los museos y las galerías de todo tipo. En la escuela, estudié historia del arte y me obsesionaban las pinturas y esculturas de la época renacentista, así como las técnicas que usaban para crear imágenes realistas pero etéreas, capaces de transportarme a otros mundos, y otras épocas.

Con este contexto, para mí, el arte moderno a veces es un hit or miss. Mi lealtad a los maestros me hace crítica de las obras que no parecen tan complejas ni técnicas. Pero tengo que recordarme que el arte moderno es una forma de expresión que busca conectar con los espectadores, sin que el realismo o la dificultad técnica sean lo más importante.

Dicho esto, el museo MOCO en el Born de Barcelona es una joya. El espacio está curado de manera impecable, con una mezcla de artistas muy conocidos y otros nuevos para mí. Hay instalaciones de luces interactivas que me encantaron. ¡Y las obras de Banksy me disfrutaron muchísimo!

Fui hace un año, así que no sé si las instalaciones han cambiado, pero seguro que disfrutarás de este espacio creativo y sorprendente.

I love museums and galleries of all kinds. In school, I studied art history and was obsessed with the paintings and sculptures of the Renaissance era, the techniques used to create realistic yet ethereal images, capable of transporting me to other times and places.

With this context, modern art is sometimes a bit hit or miss for me. My loyalty to the masters makes me critical of artwork that don’t seem as complex or technical. But I have to remind myself that modern art is a form of expression meant to connect with viewers, regardless of realism or technical difficulty.

That being said, the MOCO Museum in Barcelona’s Born district is a gem. The space is impeccably curated, featuring a mix of well-known artists and others that were new to me. There are interactive light installations that I really enjoyed. And I absolutely loved the Banksy pieces!

It’s been a year since I last visited, so I’m not sure if the installations have changed much, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy this creative and surprising space!
