En mi humilde opinión, en el tópico de comida, los argentinos se llevan la corona por hacerlo más grande y mejor. Aunque mucha gente piensa que la gastronomía argentina gira únicamente en torno al asado (y sí, hay mucho de eso), en realidad es mucho más que eso. Pastas, pizzas, empanadas, milanesas… estos platos están por todas partes. ¡Y no nos olvidemos de los dulces! El helado es uno de mis favoritos (y te lo pueden traer a casa por cuartos de kilo 😋), pero hoy en esta entrada del blog vamos a hablar de algo aún mejor: las queridísimas medialunas.
El desayuno típico en Argentina es un café con leche y dos medialunas… y una gran parte de la razón por la que mis jeans siempre están un poquito apretados después de mis vacaciones en BA.

In my humble opinion, when it comes to food, the Argies take the crown for doing it bigger and better. While a lot of people think the Argentinian food scene is all about steak (and, yes, there’s plenty of that), it’s so much more. The typical Argentinian breakfast is ‘un café con leche y dos medialunas’ and a big part of the reason that I struggle to fit in my jeans after any trip to BA.

No te imaginas lo feliz que fui al ver que este lugar abría en la Rambla de Poblenou… ¡y no me ha decepcionado! La selección es sencilla: la clásica, jamón y queso (¡caliente, claro!) y algunas rellenas deliciosas, incluyendo el clásico dulce de leche. Combina dos con un café con leche y ¡estarás listo para un día genial!

You can’t imagine my excitement when I saw this place opening on the Rambla of Poblenou… and it did not disappoint! They’ve kept the selection simple: classic, ham & cheese (heated of course!) and then a few with delicious sweet fillings including the classic Dulce de leche. Pair 2 with a Latte and you’re all set for a good day!
Cuando cruzas la puerta de este café, una bandera de medialunas frescas te da la bienvenida. Estas medialunas están bañadas en almíbar, listas para deleitar a los amantes de lo dulce. ¡La factura perfecta para cualquier momento del día!

When you enter through the door of this cafe, you’ll be greeted with a tray of freshly baked medialunas right by the door. These medialunas are drenched in almíbar (syrup) so be ready for the sweetness overload. The perfect treat at any time of the day!
🥐 Ferretti
Esta joya en el corazón de Poblenou atiende a la comunidad de argentinos que vive en el barrio. Ferretti es una franquicia, pero creo que este es el único local que ofrece medialunas argentinas. Clásicas, de jamón y queso, de dulce de leche o con pistacho… ¡tú eliges!

This jewel in the heart of Poblenou caters for the Argentinian community that live in this neighbourhood. Ferretti is a chain of cafes but I think this particular local is the only one that offers medialunas. Classic, ham & cheese, with dulce de leche or with pistachio… the choice is yours!
