Es la época del año cuando hay un espectáculo festivo cada semana aquí en Cataluña. Uno de los más tranquilos y hermosos es la celebración de la festividad religiosa del Corpus Christi, que comenza esta semana en Sitges.

Sitges es un pueblo muy lindo, a solo media hora de Barcelona en tren, famoso por su hermosa playa, su casco antiguo y su comunidad gay, con muchos bares y fiestas del pride.

Para la festividad del Corpus Christi, la comunidad de Sitges se une para decorar las calles con “alfombras de flores”. Equipos de personas de todas las edades se reúnen y dedican horas para crear las coloridas alfombras en todas las calles.

Este año, el domingo 2 de junio es el día para ver este espectáculo. ¡Ve y disfruta de otro aspecto único de la cultura de España!

It’s the time of year when there is a different festival happening every week here in Catalonia. One of the most chill and beautiful festivals is the celebration of the religious festival of Corpus Christi, which begins this week in Sitges.

Sitges is a very beautiful town, just half an hour from Barcelona by train, famous for its beautiful beach, its old town, and its gay community, with many bars and famous pride celebrations.

For the Corpus Christi festival, the community of Sitges comes together to decorate the streets with “carpets of flowers.” Teams of people of all ages gather and dedicate hours to creating the colorful carpets throughout the streets.
