¡¿Alguna vez has visto a un cerdo desfilando por la calle con fuego saliendo de él?! ¡Definitivamente, es algo que vale la pena ver al menos una vez en la vida!

Una de las cosas que me encanta de España es la cantidad de festivales y fiestas peculiares y divertidas que se celebran a lo largo del año. Cada fin de semana, seguramente puedes encontrar una fiesta en algún barrio cercano.

En el barrio del Clot, recientemente asistimos a la ‘Porkada’: un festival muy divertido que celebra todo relacionado con el cerdo. El evento principal es el Correfoc, un desfile en las calles con participantes vestidos de cerdos, donde los fuegos artificiales crean una lluvia de chispas para los espectadores. El Correfoc es una tradición catalana donde la gente, usualmente está disfrazada de diablos, pero en la Porkada, los disfraces son creaciones grotescas y verdaderas obras de arte que representan cerdos.

¡Fue una experiencia única!

Have you ever seen a pig marching down the street with fire shooting out of it?! It’s something to witness at least once in you lifetime!

One of the things I love about Spain is the sheer amount of the weird and wonderful festivals and street parties held throughout the year. Every weekend, you are sure find a celebration happening in a neighbourhood near you.

In the neighborhood of El Clot, we recently went to the ‘Porkada’: a very entertaining festival that celebrates everything pork related. The main event is the Correfoc, a street parade with participants dressed as pigs, where fireworks create a shower of sparks for the spectators. The Correfoc is a Catalan tradition where people usually dress up as devils, but in Porkada, the costumes are grotesque yet genuine works of art depicting pigs.

It’s was a truly unique experience!
